Ascorbate Master C is formulated to offer horses effective support for problems caused by the presence of oxidants. Exposure to these substances, whether external or produced by the body itself, causes oxidative stress, resulting in an alteration in the balance between oxidant and antioxidant substances. Vitamin C acts as a natural antioxidant, important for preventing damage caused by excessive free radical production in the lungs (Deaton CM et al., Equine Vet J.Suppl. 2002). Vitamin C is capable of regenerating and/or recycling other components of the antioxidant system, especially vitamin E. Vitamin C intake depends on both the quantity and the form in which it is available. Ascorbate Master C contains vitamin C in the form of calcium ascorbate. The latter contains ascorbate in a non-acidic form, has a neutral pH, acts as a buffer, and has greater bioavailability.
